Our week in a nutshell...

We went to Destin to visit Dad last weekend. He flew in from south Florida to welcome his fourth grand daughter into the world! She was born last Thursday at the hospital in Destin, so Dad got a couple of rooms on the beach for us to visit and enjoy the sunshine. Sara Catherine went down Thursday afternoon with Hunter and Christin, and Caroline and I rode down Friday after work. Hunter said he learned a few lessons while keeping SC. Rule #1: Don't walk into a convenient station for a snack and say, "get whatever you want." I think she picked about ten snacks! Rule #2: If she wants to do something that you don't want to do just say "your mama said.." and that trumps everything! She also had someone in the heated pool with her almost the whole day Friday and Saturday. She loves the water! Hunter promised her Thursday night that they would go to the pool, so at 10 o'clock, they went to the indoor pool! He sent me a text saying a promise is a promise! We had a really great visit with everyone and hopefully will be able to get together again this summer!

Hunter took this picture of SC with his i-phone.

Tuesday night I went walking/running with 5 friends. After we were through, someone thought it was a good idea to go to Sonic! For those of you who don't know much about where I live, we do not have a Sonic. The closest one is 15 minutes away! So at 9:45 on a school night, we loaded up and went to Sonic. We really had a good time and laughed just about the whole time. I didn't get home until 11:30. That is super late for me, especially on a school night! I am normally in bed at like 8:30-9:00! In my defense, I get up at 5 every morning! Luckily, I was able to jump right up Wednesday morning, but I went to bed last night before 8. Sad, I know!!!

This afternoon, SC, Mom, and I went to E'prise to get the girls' Easter dresses. I'm happy with my purchases. SC and Caroline have pictures with Vicki Popwell next week, so I had to get on the ball with getting their dresses and all of the accessories a girl needs! Since SC was so sweet at the shop, I bought her the Tangled movie. Within the last couple of days, I've thought hard about the Easter Bunny brining it, but we have talked about Tangled since it came out in theaters. Not to mention she watched it 3 times in the theaters, or that Thad ran around the world to find the Eugene doll at Christmas!! So, I went ahead and bought it tonight. She watched it on the ride home, and she is now snuggled up with Ronnie on the couch watching it again. This is Ronnie's first time seeing it, but since we have the sound track, they can both sing along with the movie. He said it feels like he has already seen it since he has heard/sang the songs, read the book, played with figurines, and colored Tangled characters for a couple of months now! LOL!! Ronnie just told SC to shhh and not tell him what happens next! Maybe he doesn't know everything about the movie!!!

Tomorrow is Friday, woohoo! Hope you have a happy and safe weekend!

~Wavy~

Sara Catherine decided she wanted "wavy" hair. Sunday night, I braided her hair in little braids all over her head while it was still damp from her bath. When she woke up the next morning, we took all of the braids out, and she had wavy hair! She liked it so much that we braided it last night, and she wore it wavy today, too. She wanted me to braid it tonight, but I told her we would take a break.

From Braids....

To Waves!

We also had spaghetti last night. As weird as this is about to sound, Sara Catherine ate it for the first time. Normally she just eats plain noodles with a little butter and Parmesan cheese. She is a border line vegetarian. She only eats chicken and fish, but they have to be cooked certain ways. So, before I added meat, I scooped some sauce out for her, and she ate the spaghetti! She informed me that she tried a Sloppy Joe today at school. I think next week I may cook Sloppy Joes and see if she will eat one! Maybe she is figuring out that there is yummy food outside of her little bubble! I think she is picky because I have never understood picky eaters. I love food and seriously eat just about anything!!

Caroline, on the other hand, will eat ANYTHING you give her. She eats like a grown man!! Needless to say, she thoroughly enjoyed the spaghetti with meat sauce!

~DiSnEy~

We spent our spring break at Disney and just arrived back home last night. We had a grand time, and like last year, we didn't want to leave! We left Tuesday morning and drove all the way only stopping for potty breaks and lunch! Danielle (Ronnie's cousin) and Mom joined us on our trip. We stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort. Like the name implies, it had a New Orleans feel to it. We took a river boat ride to Downtown Disney Tuesday afternoon. That was pretty neat and we were able to see other villas and resorts. We loved our resort, and I would recommend it. Not only did they have the river boat rides, but they also had horse drawn carriage rides. Had we stayed at our resort more, we would have taken a carriage ride!

Waiting for the riverboat.

On the riverboat going to Downtown Disney...

Downtown Disney was a bit of a blur! It was too crowded to really shop. We ate at a pretty yummy restaurant. I can't remember the name of the place, but it had Latin cuisine. Muy delicioso!

At Downtown Disney...

We woke bright and early ready for Magic Kingdom!! There must have been a back up or something with the transportation buses because we were at our waiting point for over thirty minutes waiting on a bus to the park and didn't get to see the opening. :(

Caroline LOVES Minnie and Mickey Mouse!

Arg! Caroline has her pirate face down!

We were wet from Splash Mountain. Both girls rode down the big hill with their hands straight up in the air. I tried but couldn't! They are definite dare devils and would ride anything, if they were tall enough!!

On Thursday, we slept in. Well, we were up early, but not early enough to be there when the parks opened! We went to Animal Kingdom. I highly recommend the Lion King show. It was awesome. I also liked the Nemo Musical and the safari ride. I would say those 3 are must sees at Animal Kingdom. Sara Catherine and Danielle loved the rapids ride. That was the last ride that we rode, and since there was no line, we rode it 3 or 4 times in a row. The girls were drenched!

The Tree of Life

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Danielle and SC were picked to be in the Lion King Show!

Eating at the Rain Forest Cafe.

Soaked!!

On Friday, we woke up bright and early again to make it to the opening at Magic Kingdom. We made it to the opening of the park! By day 3 we had our system down! Ronnie ran ahead of us and got fast passes to the girls' favorite ride....Thunder Mountain. We raced to the see the Princesses and get their autographs! In my opinion, you have to time those things just right or you will spend all day waiting! I highly recommend that you take advantage of Fast Passes (I think they are included in every park ticket). They were awesome! There were times where we were able get on 3 rides in a row with now wait thanks to Fast Pass.

Waiting for the gates to open!

Of course, the girls loved the princesses!!

Ronnie and Danielle are ready for Splash Mountain!

Sara Catherine's hands are up! She is in the in the last seat on the first cart.

Spinning Fast in the teacups!

Cutie Pie!

We had a great time at Disney and have already talked about when we will go back. We are going to let Caroline get a little older. It was hard with a one year old. Without Ronnie and Mom's help, it would have been a long trip! Don't get me wrong, Caroline had a great time, but at times, she was hot and tired which equals fussy! We also want to wait until the new Toons' Town and Fantasy Land are opened with the new rides. Toons' Town is completely closed, and they are adding on to Fantasy Land.

Now we are back to reality...work and daycare tomorrow. I can not believe that we only have about 2 more months left until summer! Ronnie and I were talking about how fast these next two months are going to fly by! If you were on Spring Break this past week, I hope you had a fun and relaxing break. If not, I hope you had an enjoyable week, and even better weekend! Our week's goal is to plant flowers and spruce up the yard before it gets to hot that we don't want to work in the yard! :)

TIMBER!

Today, we have been entertained by our neighbors cutting down a huge-dead pecan tree. I think it took 3 hours to actually get the tree to fall. Ronnie and SC sat outside and watched for about an hour. Then, they went to the store to get ice cream, so we sat outside as a family, and watch them try to saw down a tree while we ate ice cream. Then, we came inside and let up our shades and window to watch. Why this was so amusing, I'm not sure, but we were not the only spectators in the neighborhood!! :)

As you can see, this isn't even the whole tree. I took this picture from the inside of our house with the screen from the window in the way.

SC has on her dance outfit from last year. She seriously changes her clothes every hour!

So, for the past two days of spring break, we have been at home cleaning and relaxing. I have taken a nap both days, and it was so nice! When Caroline has napped, I have napped. I think that is a pretty good way to start spring break! Ronnie is taking a nap right now while Caroline takes an afternoon nap, and SC watches Aladdin. This is a pretty cute story: Sara Catherine was supposed to spend the night with Mom last night. While we were eating supper, Sara Catherine calls me. She tells me that she wants to come home. Of course I ask why?! I figured she was sick or something!! She never wants to leave Mom's! She tells me that she figured Ronnie and me wanted to snuggle to her, so she would come home. Mom told me that they were in the middle of playing and out of nowhere SC said that her mommy and daddy probably want to snuggle to her, so she needed to go home. I think that may have been her way of saying she was home sick?! When she came home we did snuggle and watched a movie. We try to have a family movie night once a week. The movie we watched was The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry. I HIGHLY recommend it. It is a christian film and was very inspirational.

Last weekend I was able to attend one of my best friends from high school, Anna's, shower. I had a great time and was able to catch up with girls that I have not seen in forever. Later that night, we went out to eat and had a great time. I must say, it was nice seeing their faces. Isn't funny how you can go months or even years without talking to certain friends, but when you get together you are able to talk like there has been no time between you? That is how I felt when I hung out with my old high school buds. It was very enjoyable, and like most everyone says, we need to do it more often. Unfortunately, life gets in the way and ends up being longer than you actually want it to be. Thanks to facebook, we are able to see pictures of each others lives and feel like we are being a part of each others' worlds!
