Spring Break '16

The girls had spring break this past week, so we visited my dad in South Florida. We left on Easter Sunday and came home on Saturday. Our week was so much fun and went by entirely too fast! Here is a short recap of each day...

Monday- Day 1
We drove half way Sunday to my aunt's house for the night and met Dad there.  We woke up early Monday to start the second leg of our travel. Ronnie went back home for work (Boo!), and we headed south. Dad wanted to surprise the girls and stop in Orlando at the American Girl Doll store. They were super pumped and excited!

When we arrived at his condo later that evening, the girls went straight to their suitcases and grabbed their swimsuits. They were ready for the pool! This was Sara Catherine's first time swimming with her cochlear. She was thrilled to actually be able to swim and hear. It was the first time for her to play Marco Polo. That is huge for her! It made my heart smile to be able to see her so happy with such a simple thing that many of us take for granted.

After swimming, we ordered pizza and settled in for the night. Ordering pizza and having them deliver to your house is huge for my girls! Living in a small town with no such thing as delivery makes getting pizza that much more exciting!

Tuesday- Day 2
We were up bright and early, and the girls were ready to hit the beach. We were some of the first people on the beach for the day. It was pretty crowded by the time we left a little after lunch.

We went back to Dad's and ate lunch. We had stone crab claws. My absolute favorite! I seriously could eat my weight in those things! Once we were through with lunch, the girls were back in the pool until they were just completely worn out and ready for baths and bed.
Sara Catherine helped Amelia on her swimming skills. :)

Wednesday- Day 3
When we woke up, it was raining, so we had to change our day plans and ended up going to the Sawgrass Mall. It is huge! I read that it was the second largest tourist attraction besides Orlando's theme parks. We shopped around and ate at the Rainforest Cafe.

We have been to the one at Disney a few times, and my girls love the atmosphere.

Since we were celebrating spring break, we ordered this fun dessert. Caroline's face cracks me up! :)

When we arrived back at the condo, there was a small break in the rain, so the girls were ready to swim.

That night we had grilled lobster, shrimp, and salad. Yum! I love seafood.

Thursday- Day 4
The rain was gone but it was still very windy. The girls wanted to go to the beach, so that's what we did.

We were only there for about an hour before they were ready to go back to Dad's because of the wind, so we spent the rest of our day pool side.

Friday- Day 5
It was another windy day and a ton of jellyfish had washed up on shore, so we stayed at the condo the whole day. The girls stayed at the pool from early morning until dusk only going in for lunch and a small break around 3 to eat some calamari.

We came in from the pool and had one last seafood feast. The girls were exhausted and fell asleep early. I had everything packed up, so we could leave first thing.

Saturday- Day 6
We packed the truck and hit the road. We met Ronnie half way again and headed straight for home. He was so happy to see us. He said the house was just too quiet.

Our trip was very relaxing. Nothing was on our agenda but beach, pool, and seafood, and that is exactly what we did!

I love the dessert picture too, I'm pretty sure baby girl thinks it's about to explode, LOL!

    1. I am so ready for summer too!! When we ordered that dessert at Disney, it had fake sparklers, so we were surprised when it came out with the real things! :)
