Our Easter weekend was nice. Even though it was rainy, we still made the most of it. :)
Friday was the start of the girls' spring break. Woohoo! When they got out of school, we played outside and then colored Easter eggs.

On Saturday we woke up to lots of rain. We were supposed to go to Ronnie's parents for an egg hunt and lunch but ended up only being able to eat lunch.

Later Saturday evening, Sara Catherine and I baked a Cadbury egg cake. It didn't look like the Pinterest picture but tasted amazing! I laughed so hard after it was all finished and compared it to the Pinterest picture. Ugly cakes taste the best, right?! ;)

We ended the night by making resurrection rolls and reading books about what Easter is really all about.
Sunday the girls were up bright and early! They opened their Easter baskets and then got ready for church. It was still raining. Boo.

We went to our church's early service. Church on Easter is always one of my favorites! I love the hymnals played and how we go early just like the women did when visiting the tomb of Jesus to find it empty.

After church, we went to my mom's to eat lunch and hid the girls some eggs inside. We had grilled steak and shrimp, and it was super delicious.

We left Mom's and ran home to load up our car and drive to meet my dad. It's about a five hour drive. It rained almost the whole drive, but when we arrived at my aunt's, it was pretty! They hid eggs for the girls to hunt, which was nice since they didn't get to hunt eggs outside back home.

My cousin also had this cute puppy. Caroline would not leave its side. She even slept with it. I think she has convinced Ronnie to get her a puppy!

When we got up this morning, Ronnie headed home, and we headed to south Florida for the week. The girls and I are officially on vacation!
So glad you had a great Easter weekend. Despite the rain, our day was good too. Have a fun time in Florida this week!!
